Accessibility

This is a convenience translation. Only the German version is legally binding.

What we have done

The site is built by hand, without a framework, and follows the internal design system, which carries these points as binding:

• Usable without a mouse. Every page begins with a skip link to the content, every operable element can be reached with the tab key, and focus is visible: a 2 px outline with an offset, in light mode as well as dark.
• Less motion, if you have asked for that. Under prefers-reduced-motion no transitions run, and the eyes in the logo stop following the pointer.
• Light mode and dark mode, both from the same colour table, both checked for contrast: body text at least 4.5 : 1, large text at least 3 : 1. Nowhere is colour the only thing carrying a meaning.
• Text stays text. No type set in images, apart from the wordmark. The page can be zoomed, and font sizes follow the browser setting.
• Structure, not appearance. Headings are headings, lists are lists, buttons are buttons and links are links, including where a button stands next to one. Images that say nothing are hidden from screen readers rather than described with text nobody needs.
• Tap targets are at least 44 px high.

Some of this is checked by machine on every change: the skip link, missing alternative text, contrast values and the motion rule all run as a check before anything goes online.

What we do not know

This site has not been tested with a screen reader, and it has not been reviewed by anybody who depends on accessibility. Either would carry more weight than everything above. That is why we name no WCAG conformance level: what has been checked is what stands above, and claiming more would be a statement without cover.
